Jennifer Carpenter Bio

American actress Jennifer Leann Carpenter is a 7 December 1979 native of the United States. She is most well-known for her character Debra Morgan in Showtime's Dexter. In 2009, she won a Saturn Award. Also, she was recognized for playing Rebecca Harris on CBS's Limitless. She started playing Erica Shepherd, the main character in The Enemy Within, an NBC drama The Enemy Within, in the year 2019. Carpenter's performance in The Exorcism of Emily Rose attracted the most attention. Carpenter won the 2006 MTV Movie Award in "Best Frightened Actress" and was also awarded a Hollywood Life Breakthrough Award. She was named the "Breakout Performer", at the 2006 Scream Awards. In 2007, she began dating her Dexter co-star Michael C. Hall. They were married in California on New Year's Eve 2008. Hall and Carpenter issued an announcement in December of 2010 saying that they had been separated "for some period of time". However, they are still close friends. Carpenter and Seth Avett announced their engagement on February 10, 2015. Carpenter revealed in August of 2015 that she'd given birth to one son in May, and was eight and a half months pregnant while filming the pilot episode of Limitless. Carpenter and Avett were married in May 2016.
